A 92-year-old man has been charged with manslaughter after attacking an 87-year-old resident of an assisted-living facility, who later died from his injuries, according to Stuart police. Wallace A. Server was identified as the suspect in the attack, which occurred on November 5 at Inspiritás of Stuart in Florida.
Detectives from Stuart Police conducted an investigation and determined that Server had assaulted the victim. He was subsequently arrested on November 16 and taken to Martin County Jail. The victim, who suffered blunt-force trauma injuries, was initially treated at HCA Florida Lawnwood Hospital in Fort Pierce.

After several days of treatment at Lawnwood, the victim was transferred to hospice care on November 14. Sadly, he passed away two days later. An autopsy revealed that the cause of death was homicide resulting from multiple blunt-force trauma.
The incident was reported to the police by Stuart Police officers, who were called to the facility at 9:21 p.m. on November 5. The victim’s identity has not been released.
The arrest of Server has raised concerns about the safety and security of assisted-living facilities, particularly for vulnerable elderly residents. The incident serves as a reminder for facility administrators and staff to remain vigilant in ensuring the well-being of their residents, as well as the need for regular assessments of their security measures.
