Police have named the woman who was found dead near Des Moines airport earlier this week as Belinda Anne Morris, a 55-year-old resident of Des Moines. In a statement released on Friday, the Des Moines Police Department stated that the autopsy did not show any signs of criminal activity contributing to Morris’ death. However, the final results of the autopsy are still pending.
As we previously reported, the body was discovered by a team of Des Moines city employees in a ditch near Southwest 42nd Street and Willow Creek Avenue at around 8:24 a.m. on Thursday. This area is in close proximity to the Des Moines International Airport and the Great Western Trail.

Following the discovery of the body, the trail between Southwest 42nd Street and 63rd Street was temporarily closed but has since reopened later that day.
The Des Moines police are continuing their investigation into the circumstances surrounding Morris’ death. They are currently working to gather more information and are urging anyone with relevant information to come forward.
