DPS is currently looking into a tragic accident that occurred in Angelina County, Texas, resulting in one fatality and another person being injured. The incident took place on Friday evening at the intersection of State Highway 63 and State Highway 147.
According to initial reports, the crash happened around 9:25 p.m. when a Chevrolet SUV was traveling west on Hwy. 63. The driver was allegedly speeding and lost control of the vehicle while navigating a curve, causing it to veer off the road and overturn, as stated by DPS.

The driver, identified as 79-year-old Earl Knockaert from Grapeland, was rushed to a local hospital following the accident. Unfortunately, he later succumbed to his injuries and passed away. His passenger, 78-year-old Mary Knockaert, also suffered severe injuries and was transported to a nearby hospital for treatment.
The authorities are currently conducting an investigation into the crash to determine the exact cause and circumstances leading up to the incident.
