Prosecutors Drop Murder Case in Investigation of White Supremacist Gang
Prosecutors have decided to drop the only murder case filed so far in the ongoing investigation of a white supremacist prison gang and a series of disappearances. Jason Dean Cornett, 45, had been accused of fatally shooting another man in 2021 and burning the body in a steel box before scattering the remains elsewhere. However, prosecutors filed a court document stating that they were dismissing the case “pending further investigation.”

Pottawatomie County District Attorney Adam Panter emphasized that the dismissal does not mean the case is closed. He stated, “We’re not shutting the door on it.” Cornett was arrested on March 1 and was living in Midwest City at the time.
The murder case against Cornett was already complicated due to witness problems, and “no body” cases are rare in Oklahoma, making them harder to prove. The investigation into the white supremacist prison gang has centered around 12 disappearances dating back to 2019. Mikell Patrick “Bulldog” Smith, a three-time convicted murderer and alleged shot-caller for the Universal Aryan Brotherhood, is at the center of the investigation.
Cornett’s uncle, Smith, has been described as a dangerous inmate and is believed to be involved in smuggling drugs from Mexico into Oklahoma. Cornett has been charged with first-degree murder, unlawful removal of a dead body, and desecration of a corpse. The victim, David Orr, was allegedly fatally shot in January 2021 and his burnt remains were found at a site in Logan County.
A key witness claimed that Cornett admitted to the shooting, and Orr’s son and ex-wife reported that Cornett warned them to stop looking into the disappearance. However, defense attorney Michael Johnson has cast doubt on whether Orr is actually dead, suggesting he may be hiding out to avoid federal gun charges.

In addition to Cornett, his wife and nephew were also charged as accessories to murder. However, prosecutors have decided to proceed only with the case against Cornett’s wife, Elizabeth Dee Cornett. The evidence against her includes security camera photos showing her using Orr’s food stamp card after his disappearance.
The investigation into the white supremacist prison gang and the series of disappearances continues, with authorities leaving the door open for further developments in the case.
