According to preliminary reports, the crash took place at around 4:17 p.m. when a Livingston Independent School District bus had stopped in the northbound lane with its flashing red lights on and stop sign extended to allow a child to disembark.

The investigation suggests that a Toyota passenger car was traveling behind the school bus when it was struck from behind by a tractor-trailer. The impact caused the truck to veer to the right, where the child was standing in the driveway.

Tragically, the victim, a 15-year-old boy, was pronounced dead at the scene by a justice of the peace.

Fortunately, both the 28-year-old driver of the Toyota and the 41-year-old truck driver escaped the accident unharmed.
