Riverside fire victim identified : “Riverside House Fire Claims Life of Woman, Investigation Underway”

Riverside firefighters were called to a house fire on Opperman Avenue in the 4700 block at around 4:19 p.m. on Saturday. Tragically, a woman named Pitman was found in the front room of the house when the firefighters arrived, according to Riverside Fire Department Chief Mark Miller.

The woman was immediately taken to the hospital, but sadly, she was pronounced dead shortly after. The fire is believed to have started in the same room where Pitman was found, Chief Miller stated.

The cause of the fire is currently being investigated by the Ohio Fire Marshal’s office. However, Chief Miller mentioned that it appears to have been accidental. The extent of the damage to the residence is estimated to be around $25,000.
