Investigators are currently searching Polito’s apartment in Henderson, Nevada, and have obtained his phone to search for evidence related to the motive behind the shooting. They are also reviewing his professional writings for any potential clues.

Authorities have confirmed that the victims killed in the shooting were faculty or staff members, indicating that the attack may not have been random. However, it is still unclear whether Polito had a personal connection with the individuals.

Polito maintained a LinkedIn page and a personal website, where he published a document discussing the Zodiac Killer’s cryptic messages from the late 1960s. He also expressed his fondness for Las Vegas, having visited the city numerous times over the past 15 years.
