Marvin Hill, 35, of Brockton, Dies After Shooting Incident in the City: Investigation Underway

BROCKTON – A man from Brockton who was shot on Tuesday evening in the city has died, according to officials. The Plymouth County District Attorney’s Office announced on Thursday that Marvin Hill, a 35-year-old resident of Brockton, passed away at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center in Boston at approximately 7:20 p.m. on Wednesday.

The incident occurred when Brockton police responded to a shooting report outside 28 Lexington St., near the intersection with Green Street, at around 6:17 p.m. on Tuesday. Upon arrival, emergency responders found a male victim with an apparent gunshot wound, as stated in a press release by the District Attorney’s office.

The victim, later identified as Marvin Hill, was initially transported by ambulance to Good Samaritan Medical Center in Brockton. However, due to the severity of his injuries, he was later airlifted by a medical helicopter to Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center, where he ultimately succumbed to his wounds.

Following the incident, Brockton police contacted the Massachusetts State Police assigned to the Plymouth County District Attorney’s office, and a joint investigation was initiated. The authorities are actively pursuing the case, although preliminary findings indicate that the shooting was not a random act of violence.

Marvin Hill’s tragic death has left the community in shock and mourning. As the investigation continues, residents are anxious for answers and justice to be served.
