Man Identified as Samuel Pattillo Dies After Incident at Home Near Dedham Country Club, Two Women Stabbed

Authorities in Dedham, Massachusetts have identified the man who died after a police confrontation in connection with a stabbing incident that left two women with life-threatening injuries. The incident occurred at a home near the Dedham Country Club on Jackson Pond Road on Wednesday evening.

Police responded to a 911 call for a double stabbing and discovered two women suffering from serious injuries. The victims, whose identities have not been released, were immediately transported to a Boston hospital where they are still receiving treatment.

During their search of the area, officers encountered a man walking on Country Club Road who appeared to be in distress. The man, later identified as 36-year-old Samuel Pattillo, allegedly became combative when approached by officers, leading to the use of tasers and pepper spray to subdue him.

According to a statement from the Norfolk District Attorney’s Office, officers noticed signs of physical distress after taking Pattillo into custody and immediately began administering life support measures until an ambulance arrived. Pattillo was subsequently transported to Beth Israel Deaconess Hospital Needham, where he was pronounced dead.

Investigators have revealed that both stabbing victims are adult relatives of Pattillo, who were not in a spousal relationship with him. The Office of the Chief Medical Examiner has taken up the case, and an autopsy will be conducted to determine the exact cause of death.

The Dedham Police Department is being assisted in their investigation by state police detectives assigned to the Norfolk District Attorney’s Office. Further details regarding the incident, including the motive behind the stabbings, have not been disclosed.
