Man Found Fatally Shot Near Old Alton Bridge in Denton County Identified as Alan Lee Wilson

Deputies are currently investigating the circumstances surrounding the death of a man who was found shot on Tuesday morning near a bridge in an area of Denton County. Authorities responded to a parking lot in the 2800 block of Old Alton Road, near Copper Canyon Road, east of Old Alton Bridge, where they discovered the body. The victim has been identified as Alan Lee Wilson, a 42-year-old man, according to Tarrant County medical examiner records. The cause of his death has been listed as a gunshot wound to the head.

According to the Denton Record-Chronicle, Wilson’s body was found next to a dark-colored Mitsubishi SUV. The Denton County Sheriff’s Office is currently seeking more information regarding the incident. Unfortunately, a spokesperson for the Sheriff’s Office was not available for immediate comment on Thursday morning.
