A fatal accident occurred on Wednesday morning on Interstate 129 in northeast Nebraska, resulting in the death of one person. The incident took place in the eastbound lanes and involved a stolen 2008 Toyota Camry from South Sioux City. The Camry collided with the center median barricade, prompting two good Samaritans to stop and offer assistance to the driver. Tragically, while they were helping, another vehicle traveling eastbound crashed into the Camry and the two good Samaritans. The second vehicle then proceeded to hit a parked car on the shoulder of the interstate. Sadly, one of the good Samaritans, a 66-year-old resident from South Sioux City, lost their life, while the other sustained injuries.

Emergency services transported the surviving good Samaritan and the driver of the second vehicle to a local hospital for treatment. Meanwhile, the driver of the stolen Camry fled the scene, and authorities are currently searching for the individual. The sheriff’s office could only confirm that the driver is male, unable to provide any further physical description. Another collision occurred shortly after the initial accident in the westbound lanes of I-129, but fortunately, there were no serious injuries reported.
