34-Year-Old Daniel Demichael Killed in Trumbull Crash, Child and Another Injured

A man was killed in a late Wednesday crash in Trumbull, which also injured another person and a young child. The victim, identified as 34-year-old Daniel Demichael from Norwalk, was expelled from his vehicle during a collision on Route 8 South before 8:30 p.m., according to Connecticut State Police. State police stated that a 5-year-old girl in Demichael’s car and a 26-year-old Bridgeport man in another car were also harmed.

Demichael was driving a 2004 Jeep Wrangler south in the right lane when his car was hit by a 2021 Toyota Supra driven by a Bridgeport man. The driver of the Toyota was attempting to merge onto Route 8 using the Exit 52 entrance ramp from Route 15 South. This caused Demichael to lose control of his car, veer across the left lane, and collide with a metal beam guardrail in the center median, as per state police.

According to state police, Demichael was thrown out of the Wrangler as it went through the guardrail. Sadly, he was pronounced dead at the scene. The 5-year-old passenger in Demichael’s vehicle was taken to Bridgeport Hospital with injuries believed to be minor.

The Toyota driver also sustained what were believed to be minor injuries and was transported to St. Vincent’s Medical Center in Bridgeport, according to state police. The crash is still being investigated by troopers.
