26-year-old waiter, Pankaj, killed after argument erupts at wedding over tray of used plates

Ghaziabad, Dec 7: A 26-year-old waiter tragically lost his life after an argument broke out at a wedding in Uttar Pradesh’s Ghaziabad. The victim, identified as Pankaj, was brutally attacked by a group of men when a platter of used plates that he was carrying accidentally touched some guests. The incident occurred on November 17 at the CGS Vatika guest house on Pusta Road.

During the fight, Pankaj was severely thrashed by the assailants, who, believing him to be dead, disposed of his body in a nearby jungle. The police were alerted the following day after Pankaj’s body was discovered, revealing a deep wound on his head during the postmortem examination.

The investigation quickly unraveled the chain of events, with the victim’s mother informing the police that Pankaj had gone to work at the wedding venue but never returned home. It was determined that Pankaj was employed as a waiter at the guest house through a contractor named Manoj Gupta, who also participated in the assault.

Authorities further revealed that the victim suffered grave head injuries when he was forcefully thrown to the ground by the attackers. As a result, Manoj Gupta, along with two others, Amit Kumar and an unidentified person, have been taken into custody.

The incident has shocked the local community, with many expressing their outrage over the senseless violence that led to the loss of a young man’s life. The police are continuing their investigation to determine the exact sequence of events and have promised to bring the perpetrators to justice.

This tragic incident serves as a reminder of the potential dangers faced by those working in the service industry. It highlights the need for better training and awareness to prevent such incidents from occurring in the future. The local community is now demanding stricter measures to ensure the safety and security of workers in similar establishments.
