16-Year-Old Booked for Murder of Leobardo Cervantes in Long Beach Hit-and-Run

A 16-year-old boy has been arrested on suspicion of killing a 29-year-old man in a hit-and-run incident that occurred in Long Beach during the summer. The Long Beach Police Department responded to a report of a collision between a vehicle and a bicycle at the intersection of California Avenue and Harding Street on July 9. The victim, identified as Leobardo Cervantes, was intentionally struck by a dark-colored sedan traveling at a high speed. He was taken to the hospital but sadly passed away on July 26.

The teenager, whose name has not been released due to his age, was already in custody on unrelated charges when he was identified as a suspect in the hit-and-run case. He was booked on suspicion of murder on December 6. The police are still investigating the motive behind the killing.
