A tragic incident unfolded in Thiruvananthapuram on Tuesday as a young doctor was discovered dead in her flat. The deceased, identified as Shahana, was a postgraduate student in the Surgery Department at Thiruvananthapuram Medical College. The police recovered a suicide note from the scene, shedding light on the circumstances leading to her untimely demise.

According to the police, Shahana’s suicide note revealed her distress over financial difficulties. She expressed her belief that money was the ultimate priority for everyone and lamented the lack of financial support following her father’s passing. Shahana’s friends grew concerned when she failed to report for duty and decided to check on her. Tragically, they found her unconscious in her room. She was rushed to the hospital but could not be revived.

The police have taken possession of Shahana’s phone as part of their investigation. The cause of death has been attributed to an overdose of anesthesia injected into her body. This heartbreaking incident highlights the importance of mental health support and financial assistance for students pursuing higher education.

In an unrelated incident, a man was arrested in Chengannur after allegedly stabbing his wife to death. The victim, identified as Radha, was found lifeless at Ajay Bhawan in Paralassery. The police have initiated an investigation into the matter and registered a case against the husband, Sivankutty.
