In a shocking incident in unincorporated Boca Raton, a 15-year-old boy has been taken into custody for allegedly shooting and killing his friend. The suspect, identified as Dylan Dantas, claims self-defense, but the police disagree.

According to a police report obtained by BocaNewsNow.com, Dantas lured his friend to his home on Bianchini Circle on August 7th before shooting him. Dantas made a call to the Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office, stating that he had just killed someone who was breaking into his home and that the person was his friend. Upon arrival, the deputies found Dantas in the front yard, where he made statements about self-defense and was subsequently detained.

The victim, a black male, was found unresponsive on the back patio of the residence within the screen enclosure for the pool. He had at least one gunshot wound, and the Palm Beach County Fire Rescue pronounced him dead at the scene. The medical examiner later determined that the cause of death was multiple gunshot wounds.

A Taurus G2C 9MM semi-automatic firearm was discovered on the rear patio of the residence, and nine fired casings were found on the pool deck and in the pool. The casings matched the recovered firearm, and projectiles recovered from the scene and the victim during the autopsy were also linked to the same firearm.

Surveillance footage from the residence revealed the events leading up to the shooting. Dantas can be seen on the phone, calling the victim to the backyard. The victim is heard kicking the security fence and entering the yard, after which Dantas exits the residence with a firearm and fires multiple shots. Dantas claims that the victim threatened him and had pictures of guns on social media.

Further investigation revealed communications between Dantas and the victim, as well as between Dantas and others, discussing the impending confrontation. There was also a disagreement between Dantas and the victim from the previous weekend.
