Man Fatally Stabs 4 Relatives and Wounds 2 Officers in Queens Attack, Courtney Gordon Identified as Suspect

Four family members have been killed in a stabbing incident in Queens, New York, early on Sunday, according to the police. The attack also left another person in the house and two officers wounded. The New York Police Department responded to a residence in Far Rockaway after receiving a distress call from a young girl who reported that her cousin was attacking her family members. Upon arrival, two officers encountered the suspect, who was leaving the house with his luggage. After a brief conversation, the suspect pulled out a knife and stabbed one officer in the neck and hit the other officer in the head. In response, one of the officers shot and killed the suspect, identified as 38-year-old Courtney Gordon. In addition to the attack, a fire had been set in the living room, preventing officers from accessing the rest of the victims. The fire was extinguished by the New York City Fire Department. Inside the house, four more victims were discovered in the back bedrooms. Three of them, a 12-year-old boy, a 44-year-old woman, and a man in his 30s, died from their injuries. A 61-year-old woman is in critical condition and receiving treatment for multiple stab wounds. The officers who were injured in the incident are expected to recover. A kitchen steak knife, believed to be the weapon used to injure the officers, was recovered at the scene. The motive for the attack remains unknown, and the police are currently interviewing the 911 caller. The suspect, who was from the Bronx, was reportedly visiting his family in Far Rockaway at the time of the incident.
