KENNEWICK, Wash. — Officers with the Kennewick Police Department (KPD) are searching for a suspect in a deadly shooting that took the life of Mead High School alum Travis Kitchen.

According to the department’s Facebook page, officers responded to a disturbance call on South Jean Street in Kennewick around 9:30 a.m. Monday, Dec. 4. Police found 48-year-old Kitchen on the side of the road with multiple gunshot wounds.

Kennewick Fire medics attempted to revive Kitchen, but he succumbed to his injuries at the scene. KPD said they currently have probable cause to arrest 44-year-old Adam Paul Klei for first-degree murder. A search warrant was conducted at Klei’s home on West 53rd Avenue, but police were unable to find him. However, the car police say Klei was driving at the time of the murder has been recovered.
