Malaysian police have arrested a 53-year-old foreign man in connection with the discovery of an unidentified woman’s body, which was found buried in cement inside a bathroom of a house in Kampung Pendamar, Klang.

English-language Malaysia media outlet New Straits Times reported on Tuesday (5 December) that authorities have also initiated a manhunt for two other men believed to be involved in the case.

According to Selangor police chief Datuk Hussein Omar Khan, the arrested individual will be remanded at the Klang Magistrate Court.

He mentioned that the two other men, identified as Ranjit Singh and Mandeep Singh, are foreigners and have links to the case. These men were the house’s previous tenants, as confirmed in a statement released by Khan.

The police became aware of the situation after receiving a report from a local resident on Sunday regarding the discovery of the body in the bathroom of the house, according to the New Straits Times.

Further investigations found that the complainant had rented out his Kampung Pendamar property to the two foreign men from August 2019 to October 2021.

Before renting out the house, the complainant inspected the property and noticed that a part of the bathroom wall had been cemented.

When he asked about this, the tenants explained that rotting dead rats in the wall had caused issues with the water reservoir. They claimed to have cemented the wall to address the problem.

Without suspecting anything wrong, the complainant proceeded to rent out the house to other tenants. Discovery of the body came to light when a foreign worker, who was repairing the roof of the house last month, informed the complainant about the cemented wall.

Subsequently, the police, along with the Fire and Rescue Department, Forensic Unit, and Criminal Investigation Department of the Selangor police headquarters, went to the location of the incident.

They uncovered and retrieved the body of an adult woman, which was sent to Shah Alam Hospital for a post-mortem examination on Wednesday.

The case is currently under investigation.
