Fatal Traffic Crash in Forest Township Under Investigation

Flint Post – Troopers from the Michigan State Police Third District are currently investigating a tragic traffic crash that occurred on the evening of December 4, 2023, in Forest Township. The incident took place at the intersection of Lake Road and Henderson Road, around 7:45 PM.
According to authorities, a southbound 2011 Chevrolet Malibu failed to stop at the intersection, resulting in a collision with a westbound 2016 Jeep. The impact of the crash was severe, leading to fatal consequences for one of the individuals involved. The identity of the deceased has not yet been released pending family notification.
Michigan State Police are working diligently to determine the cause of the accident and establish any contributing factors. Preliminary findings suggest that the driver of the Chevrolet Malibu may have disregarded a stop sign at the intersection, leading to the collision with the Jeep. It is unclear at this time whether alcohol or drugs played a role in the crash.
Emergency medical services were dispatched to the scene immediately after the incident was reported, providing aid to the injured parties. The extent of their injuries is currently unknown.
