Driver Identified in Centreville Car Crash: Sohail Iqbal Dead, Another Critically Injured

One person has been killed and another is in critical condition following a car crash in Centreville, Virginia. The incident occurred on Tuesday morning, according to the local police department.

The deceased driver has been identified as Sohail Iqbal, a 30-year-old man from Manassas. The other driver, whose identity hasn’t been disclosed by the authorities, suffered life-threatening injuries. The collision took place around 12:30 a.m. near the intersection of Lee Highway and Clifton Road.

According to investigators, a 2013 BMW M3 was traveling southbound on Stringfellow Road when it collided with a 2012 Hyundai Sonata driving southbound on Route 29. The impact caused the Hyundai to veer across the intersection and crash into the concrete foundation of a utility pole.

Tragically, Iqbal, the driver of the Hyundai, was pronounced dead at the scene. Emergency services rushed the BMW driver to a nearby hospital for medical treatment. The cause of the accident is still under investigation, but speed is believed to have played a role. Authorities are also looking into the possibility of alcohol involvement.
