The St. Tammany Parish Coroner’s Office has identified the victim of a fatal shooting in the Slidell area on Tuesday night as Donald Dominick. The 41-year-old was pronounced dead shortly before 8 p.m. after sustaining multiple gunshot wounds. The preliminary manner of death has been determined as homicide, according to a news release from Coroner Charles Preston’s office. An autopsy is scheduled for Thursday, and a final determination will be made once lab tests have been reviewed.
Earlier on Wednesday, the St. Tammany Sheriff’s Office reported that deputies had responded to a call regarding gunshots in the Alton community, located in the Slidell area. The incident occurred around 6 p.m. in the 62000 block of North 15th Street. Upon arrival, deputies discovered Dominick unresponsive and immediately transported him to a nearby hospital. Unfortunately, he succumbed to his injuries and passed away.
