According to Dr. Russell Lowery-Hart, the President of Amarillo College, the safety and well-being of the college community are of utmost importance. He believes that by providing ALERRT training, they can empower individuals to take an active role in their own safety and security.

The training sessions will be conducted by certified ALERRT instructors and will include both classroom instruction and hands-on exercises. Participants will learn how to assess the situation, make critical decisions under pressure, and effectively respond to an active shooter event.

Amarillo College is taking proactive measures to ensure the safety of its campus community, aligning with the national trend of educational institutions prioritizing active shooter preparedness. The college’s collaboration with ALERRT highlights its commitment to providing a secure learning environment for its students and staff.
