Tragic Warehouse Collapse in Karnataka Claims the Lives of Krishna Kumar, Rajesh Kumar Mukhiya, Sambu Mukhiya, Lukho Yadav, Rambrich Mukhiya, Ramabalaka Mukhiya, and Dulhara Chand Mukhiya

A tragic incident occurred in Karnataka’s Vijayapura district on Tuesday when a warehouse collapsed, killing seven migrant workers and injuring six others. The deceased have been identified as Krishna Kumar, Rajesh Kumar Mukhiya, Sambu Mukhiya, Lukho Yadav, Rambrich Mukhiya, Ramabalaka Mukhiya, and Dulhara Chand Mukhiya, all hailing from Bihar.

Rescue operations are still underway, as authorities continue to search the site cautiously. Minister for Large and Medium Industries and Vijayapura district in charge, MB Patil, visited the scene earlier to assess the situation. Patil expressed his condolences and stated that the primary focus is to recover the bodies as quickly as possible. He assured that he is in constant communication with the Deputy Commissioner and Superintendent of Police to stay informed about the progress.

The incident has led to an investigation, with an FIR filed against the owner of the warehouse, Kishore Jain, and the warehouse supervisor, Praveen Chandra. The FIR alleges that the accused did not take necessary precautions despite being aware that the machinery was under repair.

The injured workers have been identified as Sonu Karamchand, Ravish Kumar, Anil, Kalmeshwar Mukhiya, Kishore Hazarimal Jain, and Prakash Dhumagoda. They are currently receiving medical treatment for their injuries.

Minister MB Patil emphasized the importance of ensuring the bodies of the deceased workers are returned to their families and home states after the completion of autopsies. The tragic incident has highlighted the risks faced by migrant laborers, who often travel long distances in search of work, leaving behind their loved ones.

As the rescue operation continues, authorities are determined to uncover the cause of the warehouse collapse and hold those responsible accountable for their negligence. The incident serves as a reminder of the importance of maintaining safety standards in workplaces to prevent such tragic accidents.
