Tragedy Strikes as HCLTech Employees’ Weekend Getaway Ends in Fatal Accident
A weekend retreat to the picturesque hills of Nainital turned into a nightmare for a group of 21 HCLTech employees. The large vehicle they were traveling in lost control and overturned near Ghatgarh on the Nainital-Kaladhungi road on Sunday. Two young women lost their lives, while two others are in critical condition. The remaining passengers had a close call as the vehicle came to a halt just before plunging into a deep gorge.

The group, consisting of 14 men and seven women, had arrived in Nainital for a leisure trip on Saturday. They were on their way back to the National Capital Region (NCR) when the accident occurred. The police reported that the incident, caused by brake failure, took place approximately 6 kilometers before Kaladhungi. The driver of the vehicle also sustained injuries in the crash.
The deceased have been identified as 28-year-old Sayoni Dubey and 23-year-old Jaya Shakya. The injured individuals are currently receiving treatment at a hospital in Haldwani. The bodies of the deceased have been sent for autopsy.
