Idaho Father Accused of Shooting Pregnant Wife and Killing Son Appears in Court Topless
The Idaho father accused of shooting his pregnant wife to death and kidnapping their 10-month-old son who was later found dead appeared in court topless on Monday.

Jeremy Albert Best, 48, was charged with two counts of first-degree murder in connection to the deaths of his wife and unborn child on November 30.
He appeared before the judge over Zoom from the Bonneville County Jail where he was seen shirtless with his head in his hand.
The first count of murder that he faced was for shooting his pregnant wife, Kali Randall Best, 38, and the second was for the death of their unborn child.
He was also charged with one count of using a firearm during the crime, but it is not yet known if he will face additional charges for the abduction and later death of their 10-month-old son Zeke Gregory Best.

Best is accused of shooting his pregnant wife Kali Randall Best to death on Thursday in their Victor, Idaho home. He then went on to kidnap their 10-month-old son Zeke
Police believe that Best murdered his wife at their home in Victor, Idaho, before he kidnapped their son Zeke.
Roughly 24 hours before, footage obtained by East Idaho News showed Best walking through the Swan Valley General Store naked.
He can be seen in the video with a cigarette in his mouth as he slouched over the store’s counter next to the cash register.
Deputies with Bonneville County Sheriff’s Office responded to the store and identified Best.
He was evaluated by EMS teams outside the store and was taken to Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center over mental health concerns.
It remains unclear what happened at the hospital, but a spokesperson confirmed that Best was discharged on Thursday afternoon.
Later that day, officers arrived at the family home after receiving a 911 call from a neighbor at 11.39pm – just before Best was last seen.
They found Randall unresponsive, with her death being treated as homicide.

An Amber alert for Zeke was then issued at 4.30am Friday. Police said that the dad was last seen driving a Black 1995 Chevrolet Tahoe SUV with an Idaho license plate 1T39349.
They warned the public not to approach the ‘heavily armed’ white 5’11” male suspect and asked anyone with information to come forward.
On Saturday, at about 9.15am, nearby hunters discovered Best resting in a sleeping bag beside Kepps Crossing Road near the Dan Creek Road, east of Idaho Falls, and called police.
The caller said that the man ‘was naked and making odd statements’, according to a news release.
Bonneville County Sheriff deputies then rushed to the scene and identified Best before they placed him in a patrol car until medics arrived to treat him for any injuries.
His black Chevrolet was found down a nearby embankment off the roadway where deputies soon found the 10-month-old’s body. No cause of death has been released.
Randall’s cousin, Meg Fischer, released a statement on behalf of her family thanking friends for their support amid horrific circumstances.
‘We thank all of you for walking with us during this time,’ Fischer said in a message sent to East Idaho News.
‘Our Zeke is now at rest with his loving mama and unborn sibling. The pain we feel is unimaginable and we thank everyone for their support.
‘You will never know how you have lifted our family up during this time. As this is an ongoing investigation, we ask for privacy as we take time to process and grieve.’
Fischer previously said she was ‘shattered’ to learn that Randall had also been expecting her second child at the time of her death.

Paying tribute to her cousin, Fischer said: ‘She was a beautiful and free spirit.
‘She was called to the mountains and made her home there. She was a lover of animals, especially her dogs.
‘Motherhood was her greatest joy and we assume she gave her life protecting her children. We love her endlessly.’
Best owns a local mechanic shop in Victor, Idaho, called Jeremy’s Auto, and has been a mechanic for 20 years.
Jeremy said that when not repairing cars – he’s ‘soaking up the sun on his leisure boat’ or ‘cruising the backroads with his lady, Kali, and three dogs’.
During his arraignment on Monday, the defense requested a mental competency test be conducted on Best from the Department of Health and Welfare.
He is currently being held in the Bonneville County Jail without bond and a preliminary hearing has been scheduled for December 18 at 9.30am.

He was then taken to the Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center for further evaluation. Best was discharged from the hospital on Thursday afternoon.
