Head-on Collision in Chittagong Claims Lives of Truck Driver Md Rubel and Assistant Md Jahangir Alam

Two people, including a truck driver, were killed in a tragic accident that occurred on Tuesday in Fatikchhari upazila of Chittagong. The collision involved a stone-carrying truck and a drump truck, resulting in the deaths of the drump truck driver, Md Rubel, and his assistant, Md Jahangir Alam. The incident took place in Nazirhat and left another truck driver, Nur Mia, injured. He was immediately rushed to Chittagong Medical College Hospital for treatment.

According to the Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Nazirhat Highway Police Station, the accident happened when the stone-carrying truck, traveling from the opposite direction, crashed into the rubber-carrying drump truck. The drump truck was en route to Chittagong from Fatikchhari Bhujpur rubber garden at the time of the collision. Tragically, both Rubel and Jahangir were killed on the spot due to the impact.

Following the incident, the police seized both trucks involved in the collision. The OC stated that legal action would be taken in connection with the accident.

Factors such as reckless driving, poor road conditions, and inadequate enforcement of traffic rules contribute to these accidents. As a result, the government and law enforcement agencies have been striving to improve road safety measures, including stricter traffic regulations and increased awareness campaigns.
