Kanchanaburi Police in Thailand are urgently searching for a brutal murderer who is suspected of shooting a transgender woman during a robbery. The suspect, who seems to be a fan of serial killer movies, shockingly used the victim’s stolen phone to post a chilling riddle on her Facebook account, taunting both the authorities and the victim’s friends.

The victim, identified as 38-year-old Phanuchaya Niamthong, was employed at a local department store. Her lifeless body was discovered in her bedroom, lying face down on her bed with a pillow covering the back of her head. A close-range gunshot to her left cheek was apparent, with a spent shell casing found beside the bed.

In a disturbing twist, the perpetrator locked the doors from the inside and used a master key to lock the main gate from the outside before fleeing the scene. The investigation revealed that several valuables were missing, including a 2-baht-weight gold ring, two mobile phones, a collection of coins worth 5,000 baht, and the keys to her motorbike and house.

The murder case is currently focusing on two primary lines of investigation: robbery and a possible relationship gone wrong. Phanuchaya frequently brought male friends to her home, which could have provided the killer with knowledge of her possessions and where she kept her valuables.

The police are now tracking down her male acquaintances for questioning and analyzing footage from nearby CCTV cameras to identify any vehicles that may belong to the suspect.

Adding to the horror, a colleague of the deceased discovered a disturbing status update on Phanuchaya’s Facebook account shortly after news of her death spread. The status, which had not been there before, asked, “Do you know who killed Ariya?” accompanied by a smiling emoji. Ariya was an alternate name Phanuchaya used on one of her Facebook profiles, leading to speculation that the suspect used the stolen phone to mock law enforcement and taunt them for their inability to apprehend him.
