Man Arrested in Deadly Hit-and-Run Crash in Memphis
A man has been arrested in connection with a fatal hit-and-run crash in southeast Memphis. The incident occurred on October 26, when Memphis Police responded to a crash on Kirby Parkway near I-385. Sarah Hamer, 53, was found injured at the scene and was rushed to Regional One Hospital, where she later succumbed to her injuries.

According to reports, the suspect, identified as DeAndrea Clark, exited a ramp, ran a red light, and drove through grass at a speed of 85 MPH in a 40 MPH lane. Clark’s vehicle collided with Hamer’s car, and he fled the scene on foot.
During the investigation, police found a phone inside the suspect’s vehicle. Fingerprints taken from the phone matched those of DeAndrea Clark. Further investigation revealed that Clark’s driver’s license had been suspended in 2011, and the car he was driving had no proof of insurance.
DeAndrea Clark has been charged with several offenses, including Vehicular Homicide, Leaving the Scene of an Accident Involving Death, Driving while License Suspended, Failure to Exercise Due Care, Violation of Financial Law, and Duty to Give Information/Render Aid. He is scheduled to appear in court on Tuesday.
