12-year-old S. Aravindan Found Murdered in Tiruvarur District, R. Ilavarasan Arrested for the Crime

A 12-year-old boy was discovered murdered in a dense area near the Thirumalairajan river bund in Kuchipalayam village, Tiruvarur district, on Monday. The victim, S. Aravindan, was a seventh-grade student at the Government Middle School in Nemeli village. The local police have apprehended R. Ilavarasan, a 28-year-old resident of Kuchipalayam village, for allegedly committing the heinous crime.

According to the authorities, Aravindan and a group of students were returning home in the evening when they decided to pause and fish in a nearby pond. Ilavarasan, who was present at the scene, reportedly lured Aravindan to a dense area where he allegedly carried out the murder. Ilavarasan, a former overseas worker with a diploma, had been unemployed for some time and was reportedly taking medication for depression.

When Aravindan failed to return home from school, his mother, Ambika, went searching for him and encountered Ilavarasan. Shockingly, Ilavarasan informed her that her son had been eliminated. The young boy’s lifeless body was discovered in the bushy area near the river bund, displaying grievous head injuries.

During questioning, the other students who were with Aravindan revealed that Ilavarasan had taken him away. The police subsequently found bloodstains on Ilavarasan’s shirt and lungi, leading to his arrest.

The victim’s body has been transported to Tiruvarur Government Medical College Hospital for a post-mortem examination, which will determine the weapon used in the murder. Nannilam police have registered a case against Ilavarasan under Section 302 (murder) of the Indian Penal Code.

This tragic incident has left the community in shock and mourning, as they grapple with the loss of a young life. The authorities are working diligently to ensure a thorough investigation into the matter, seeking justice for Aravindan and his grieving family.
