Two people were killed in West Point on Sunday, according to a press release from the West Point Police Department.

On Sunday t approximately 8:15 p.m., officers from the West Point Police Department responded to 614 Avenue B in reference to a welfare check which resulted in the discovery of two deceased individuals.

Officers found a white female and a Hispanic male both suffering from gunshot wounds. They were pronounced deceased on scene.

The case has been turned over to Georgia Bureau of Investigation for further investigation.

Officers found a white female and a Hispanic male, both suffering from gunshot wounds. They were pronounced deceased on the scene.

The case has been turned over to the Georgia Bureau of Investigation for further investigation.

The incident has shocked and saddened the community of West Point. Residents are calling for justice and increased police presence in the area to prevent further violence.

“We have to come together as a community and take a stand against this senseless violence,” said local resident Sarah Johnson. “Our hearts go out to the families of the victims, and we hope that the authorities will swiftly bring the perpetrators to justice.”
