Suspected Robber Sartaj Mohammed Shot Dead by Mob on Outskirts of Karachi, Teenager Injured in Accidental Gunfire

A suspected robber has been killed by a mob on the outskirts of Karachi, according to the police. The body of the man, identified as Sartaj Mohammed, aged 30, was found with gunshot wounds near Saafi Chowk in Dur Mohammed Goth. The Shah Latif Town police station house officer, Meraj Anwar, stated that the deceased was allegedly a mugger and was shot dead by the mob. The body was taken to Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre for medico-legal formalities.

In another incident, a teenager and his uncle were arrested after a teenage boy was injured by an accidental gunshot in Saddar. Abdullah Javed was shot in the leg when a gun went off accidentally in Bohri Bazaar. The South DIG, Syed Asad Raza, explained that Abdullah’s friend, Nabeel Saleem, was playing with his uncle’s gun when it discharged and hit Abdullah. The wounded boy’s family was hesitant to file a First Information Report (FIR), so the police registered a case against Nabeel and his uncle, Faisal Hameed, on behalf of the state. DIG Raza emphasized the importance of adhering to strict rules on firearm possession and highlighted that license holders should avoid displaying or firing their weapons.
