Six labourers were killed and six others were injured when their vehicle plunged into a gorge near Sunni in Shimla district on Monday morning, according to the police. The tragic incident occurred at Kararghat, approximately 35 km from Shimla, when the driver of the ill-fated pickup truck lost control of the vehicle. The labourers, who hailed from Jammu and Kashmir, were en route to Mandi at the time of the accident.
Three of the workers died instantly, while the remaining three succumbed to their injuries at the Indira Gandhi Medical College Hospital (IGMCH), as confirmed by the police. The injured labourers are currently receiving medical treatment at the hospital. The deceased have been identified as Farid, Gulab, Sahbir, and Talib, while the identities of the other two victims are still unknown.

Authorities have registered a case and investigations are now underway to determine the cause of the accident.
