The deceased was identified as a 50-year-old Italian man named Milazzo Gianluca. An 80-centimeter iron pipe smeared with blood was discovered close to the crime scene, presumably the murder weapon.

The police report indicated that the incident was reported by a 38-year-old individual named Kanokphon Wechasamphan on Saturday, December 2. He found the body in front of a house and immediately informed the police.

Kanokphon shared that Milazzo lived alone and recently faced financial issues. The bank had foreclosed his residence, and his water and electricity were cut off.

“Previously, Milazzo had numerous heated arguments with his neighbor living on the opposite side of his house which resulted in court action,” Kanokphon revealed.

The investigation took a significant turn when a 55-year-old neighbor, known only as Phongsapat, confessed to the crime. According to Phongsapat, he held Milazzo responsible for his son’s incarceration. The two had a dispute over placing a rubbish bin, which spiraled into a major confrontation.

Phongsapat reportedly visited his son in prison and returned harboring intense resentment towards Milazzo, whom he believed to be the reason for his son’s imprisonment. In a fit of rage, Phongsapat attacked Milazzo with an iron pipe while he was standing in front of his house, the police stated.

The Khlong Luang police took Phongsapat into custody and transported him to the police station, where he will face legal proceedings and criminal charges for his crime.

This incident serves as a grim reminder of the importance of dialogue and peaceful conflict resolution. It is essential for neighbors to maintain open communication and try to resolve disputes amicably to prevent such tragic outcomes.
