Idaho Baby Zeke Best Found Dead, Father Arrested in Connection with Wife’s Death

An infant in Idaho was discovered dead by the police on Saturday, a day after an Amber Alert was issued for him, according to authorities. The baby’s father, Jeremy Albert Best, was apprehended on an arrest warrant related to the death of his wife.

After receiving a call from a hunter reporting a man in a sleeping bag on the side of the road, law enforcement located the body of 10-month-old Zeke Best approximately 24 miles east of Idaho Falls. The Bonneville County Sheriff’s Office stated that Jeremy Albert Best was the man in question and had been the subject of an Amber Alert issued on Friday, suspected of kidnapping the child in Teton County.

Upon discovering Best’s vehicle in an embankment off the road, officers made the heartbreaking discovery of the deceased baby at the scene. Idaho State Police and the FBI are among the agencies involved in processing the scene, as the investigation remains ongoing.

Additionally, Jeremy Albert Best was wanted in connection with the investigation into the death of his wife, Kali Jean Randall. Her body was found in their residence in Victor on Thursday, and the Teton County Sheriff’s Office is treating her death as a homicide.

Best is currently being held in Bonneville County Jail and will remain in custody until his arraignment. However, the jail was unable to confirm if a defense attorney had been assigned to his case when contacted by phone on Saturday evening. The investigation into these tragic events continues.
