ORIGINAL: In the early morning hours of December 2, 2023, the Lafayette Police Department swiftly responded to reports of a shooting in progress on the 300 block of Tenth Street. Upon arrival, officers discovered a female victim with apparent gunshot wounds at a nearby residence.
Immediate life-saving measures were initiated by the officers until paramedics arrived on the scene. The victim was then transported to a local hospital, but sadly succumbed to her injuries. The Criminal Investigations Division, along with Crime Scene Investigators, swiftly arrived at the location and are actively pursuing leads. The investigation is ongoing, and further updates will be provided as they become available.
