Fatal Traffic Crash in Perry Township Claims Lives of Margaret M. Taylor and Robert A. Bodiford

Perry Township in Stark County, Ohio, is mourning the loss of two residents who were tragically killed in a fatal traffic crash on Thursday morning. The victims have been identified as Margaret M. Taylor, 71, and Robert A. Bodiford, 68.

According to the crash report filed by Perry Township police, the incident occurred at the intersection of Lincoln Way E and Locke Avenue. Taylor, who was driving a white 2005 Toyota Solara, was traveling northbound on Locke Avenue when her vehicle crossed Lincoln Way. At that moment, a black 2021 Chevrolet flatbed truck towing another vehicle collided with the front passenger door of Taylor’s car. The impact caused Taylor’s vehicle to hit a black 2023 Hyundai Sonata, which was also heading westbound and making a right turn from Lincoln Way.

The authorities are currently investigating the crash to determine the exact cause and sequence of events leading to the collision. Meanwhile, the driver of the truck, Bruce A. Bixler, 48, was taken to Aultman Hospital in Canton for treatment of suspected minor injuries. The driver of the Sonata, Kelly M. Laign, 60, did not report any injuries.

The crash, which occurred at 10:53 a.m., also resulted in damage to four vehicles parked on the lot of the Diehl Automotive Group.
