Decomposed Body of Man Found in Berhampur Rented Room

Berhampur police made a gruesome discovery on Sunday when they recovered the decomposed body of a 37-year-old man from his rented room. The deceased, identified as Jagannath Nayak, ran an eatery on Gopalpur beach in Ganjam district. Police suspect that he was murdered.

The body was found after locals complained about a foul smell emanating from the house. Police broke the lock of the room in the presence of a magistrate and discovered Nayak’s remains. According to Superintendent of Police Saravana Vivek M, it appears that Nayak was stoned to death by some miscreants approximately three to four days ago.

Investigators believe that the individuals living with Nayak in the rented house are involved in the murder. They locked the door from the outside and are currently on the run. The body has been sent for post-mortem examination, and an investigation is underway to determine the exact cause of death and apprehend the suspects.
