Arrest Made in Homicide: 29-Year-Old Gary Lavon Love III Shot and Killed on South Capitol Street

The Metropolitan Police Department (MPD) has announced that an arrest has been made in connection with a shooting that resulted in the death of a man on November 20th. The incident occurred on the 4600 block of South Capitol Street, SW.

According to MPD documents, officers were called to the scene after receiving a report of a shooting. Upon arrival, they found an adult male on the sidewalk, suffering from a gunshot wound. Unfortunately, the victim did not survive and succumbed to their injuries at a local hospital.

The victim has been identified as 29-year-old Gary Lavon Love III.

On December 1st, the MPD’s Capital Area Regional Fugitive Task Force apprehended and charged 21-year-old Roy Jordan with first-degree murder while armed – premeditated.
