29-year-old Robert L. Hunter Jr. Arrested and Released after Shooting Death of 50-year-old Deandre M. Blocker in Peoria

PEORIA (25News Now) – A man suspected in a fatal shooting that occurred in November has turned himself in to Peoria Police, according to spokesperson Semone Roth. The suspect, identified as 29-year-old Robert L. Hunter Jr., was later released.

The shooting incident, which left a 50-year-old man named Deandre M. Blocker dead, took place on November 25. Police received two ShotSpotter alerts for a total of four gunshots fired in the 600 block of East Frye at around 9:45 p.m.

Upon investigation, Hunter was identified as the primary suspect in the case. He was subsequently arrested for the unlawful possession of a weapon by a felon. However, Hunter was given a notice to appear and released.
