Pressure is mounting on Prince Harry and Meghan Markle as they face a racism row over their son Archie. The royal family is set to hold crisis talks next week to address the situation, while an MP launches a plan to strip the couple of their titles.

The controversy began after the release of Omid Scobie’s book, Endgame, which featured two unnamed royals questioning Meghan about Archie’s skin colour. The copies were recalled and destroyed due to a translation error, according to Scobie. The author has denied Meghan’s involvement in the leaks and claimed that the identification of the two royals was included in a letter she sent to the King.

Alongside the impending crisis talks, Harry and Meghan have allegedly been excluded from the wedding of Archie’s godfather, while Prince Charles and Princess Diana were invited. Conservative MP Bob Seely is also planning to introduce a Bill that would strip Harry and Meghan of their titles, citing concerns over the “use of race to smear the royal family.”

Seely aims to revive old laws used during the First World War to strip Germans of their British aristocratic titles. He has requested that his Titles Deprivation 1917 Amendment Bill be listed on the order of business for the House of Commons next week.

While Charles and William have yet to meet and discuss their options regarding the racism row, legal recourse is reportedly being considered. William, in particular, is said to be seeking action following the allegations. The King and Princess of Wales are scheduled to confer next week to strategize their response.

Amidst the controversy, sources close to the royals emphasize that the upcoming discussions will not be classified as “crisis talks.” Instead, they will be conducted with care, time, and professionalism, rather than being rushed over a weekend.

In the midst of these developments, it has been revealed that Hugh Grosvenor, the Duke of Westminster and Archie’s godfather, has chosen not to invite Harry and Meghan to his upcoming wedding. Instead, he has extended an invitation to the Prince and Princess of Wales.

While some individuals have publicly defended the royals, including former Prime Minister Boris Johnson and former head of the Commission for Racial Equality Sir Trevor Phillips, the racism allegations continue to cast a shadow over the royal family.
