Manhunt Underway: Suspect Arrested in Connection with Mob Justice Killing of Kagiso Tshwaane

Ongoing manhunt: Police have apprehended one suspect in connection with a mob justice incident that resulted in the death of the victim.

Authorities in Hlogotlou have arrested a suspect who is accused of murder and kidnapping following an incident of apparent mob justice at Vleeischboom last week.

According to the police, enraged members of the community went to the residence of the murder victim on Thursday, 30 November, at approximately 10pm.

The allegations state that a 16-year-old boy raped a three-year-old girl. Community members claimed that the suspect took the child to his home while she was playing outside with other children and raped her. A rape case has been opened for investigation.

Vigilantism: Rescued from angry mob

The police were informed about the alleged kidnapping of the rape suspect and managed to rescue him from the angry mob. He sustained severe injuries and was taken to the local hospital.

Unfortunately, the suspect, identified as Kagiso Tshwaane, passed away at the hospital the following day.

The police have opened murder and kidnapping cases and have launched a manhunt. They have already apprehended one suspect, but expect more arrests to be made.

The arrested suspect will appear in the Nebo Regional Court to face charges of murder and kidnapping.

Seven killed in Diepsloot

In other news, Diepsloot has once again made headlines after seven individuals were brutally killed in what appears to be two separate incidents of mob violence.

The first incident occurred on Friday evening, followed by another in the early hours of Saturday morning. Preliminary investigations suggest that in both cases, the victims were assaulted and set on fire by a mob.

Mgcini Tshwaku, the City of Joburg public safety MMC, stated that the Joburg Metro Police Department (JMPD) responded to a report of two bodies found on the streets of Diepsloot’s Extension 13 at around 11 pm on Friday.
