Man Kills Four Relatives, Including Two Children, in New York City Knife Attack

A man has killed four relatives, including two children, in a knife attack at their home in New York City. The incident occurred in the early hours of Sunday morning in the Far Rockaway area of Queens. Police were alerted to the situation when a young female caller dialed 911 and reported that her cousin was killing her family. Upon arriving at the scene, the officers encountered a man leaving the area with luggage. Within seconds, he drew a knife and attacked the officers. One officer was stabbed in the neck and chest, while the other was slashed in the head. In response, one of the officers shot the assailant, who later succumbed to his injuries.

Inside the house, authorities discovered three more victims who had been fatally stabbed: a 12-year-old boy, a 44-year-old woman, and a man in his 30s. Another woman, aged 61, sustained multiple stab wounds and is in critical condition. Tragically, an 11-year-old girl was found outside the house and was pronounced dead at a hospital from stab wounds.

Due to a fire that had engulfed the living room and foyer, police initially faced difficulties gaining entry into the home. However, once inside, they discovered the horrific scene. The suspect, identified as 38-year-old Courtney Gordon, had been visiting the family from his home in the Bronx. The identities of the victims have not been released at this time.

Both injured police officers are expected to recover from their wounds. The incident follows a similar knife attack in the Bronx last week, where a college student, who claimed to be hearing voices, killed his father, his 5-year-old half-brother, and the boy’s mother. The New York Police Department’s police union expressed admiration for the officer’s actions, stating that the situation was chaotic and praised the officer’s skill in stopping the threat.

Authorities are continuing their investigation into the incident, and anyone with information is urged to come forward.
