NEW YORK CITY (AP) — A man has killed four members of his family, including two children, at their home in Queens, New York City. The incident took place on Sunday morning, and two police officers were also stabbed during the confrontation and subsequently shot the suspect dead.
The perpetrator has been identified as Courtney Gordon, a 38-year-old resident of the Bronx who was visiting his family in the Far Rockaway neighborhood. He was pronounced dead at a local hospital.

The victims, whose identities have not been released, include a 12-year-old boy, a 44-year-old woman, and a man in his 30s. They were found dead at the scene, and initial investigations suggest that they all died from stab wounds. An 11-year-old girl was also discovered in front of the house, but despite being rushed to the hospital, she was later pronounced dead.
The two injured police officers are expected to recover from their wounds. One officer was stabbed in the neck and chest, while the other was slashed in the head. Another woman, aged 61, was also injured and is currently in critical condition due to multiple stab wounds.
The police were alerted to the incident by a young woman who called emergency services at approximately 5:10 AM on Sunday. Upon arriving at the scene, the officers encountered Gordon, who was carrying a bag. He immediately attacked them with a knife, leading to the fatal confrontation.
Firefighters were unable to enter the home initially due to a fire that had engulfed the living room and foyer. The authorities suspect that Gordon intentionally started the fire after carrying out the deadly attack. After extinguishing the flames, three more victims were discovered dead inside.

Patrick Hendry, the head of the New York Police Department’s police union, described the scene as chaotic. He praised the officer’s skill in shooting and neutralizing the threat despite being stabbed, calling it “unbelievable.”
The investigation into the motive behind this horrifying incident is ongoing, and authorities are providing support to the affected families.
