Idaho Baby Found Dead by Police After Amber Alert, Father in Custody

Idaho Falls, Idaho – Tragedy struck an Idaho family as a 10-month-old baby was found dead by police on Saturday. The devastating discovery came just a day after an Amber Alert was issued for the infant. The baby’s father, Jeremy Albert Best, was taken into custody on an arrest warrant related to the death of his wife.

Authorities located the body of baby Zeke Best about 24 miles east of Idaho Falls after a hunter called to report a man in a sleeping bag on the side of the road. The Bonneville County Sheriff’s Office confirmed that the man was Jeremy Albert Best and that he was wanted for kidnapping the child in Teton County, leading to the Amber Alert being issued on Friday.

During their search, officers found Best’s car in an embankment off the road, and tragically, they discovered the lifeless body of the baby at the scene. The investigation is ongoing, with Idaho State Police and the FBI assisting in processing the evidence.

The father was also wanted in connection with the death of his wife, Kali Jean Randall. Her body was found in their Victor residence on Thursday, and the Teton County Sheriff’s Office is treating her death as a homicide.

Jeremy Albert Best is currently being held in Bonneville County Jail and will remain in custody until his arraignment. However, the jail could not confirm if a defense attorney had been assigned to his case when contacted by phone on Saturday evening.
