German-Filipino Tourist Killed in Paris Terrorist Plot

French authorities have launched an investigation into a potential “terrorist plot” following a deadly stabbing incident in central Paris over the weekend. The attacker, identified as Armand Rajabpour-Miyandoab, is known to the authorities as a radical Islamist with mental health issues. The incident occurred near the iconic Eiffel Tower on Saturday evening, at a time when France is on high alert due to the ongoing conflict between Israel and Hamas.

The terrorism prosecutors informed AFP on Sunday that they are probing the assailant, who was born in 1997 to Iranian parents and holds French nationality. Tragically, a 23-year-old man, identified as a German-Filipino citizen, lost his life in the attack. However, a quick-thinking taxi driver intervened to protect his wife from the assailant. In addition to the fatality, a 66-year-old British citizen and a 60-year-old French national were injured in the attack. Health Minister Aurélien Rousseau stated that while their physical injuries are superficial, the psychological trauma they have experienced is expected to be significant.
