SEDGWICK COUNTY — Police in Wichita are investigating a deadly shooting that occurred in the early hours of September 10. They are seeking assistance from the public in locating a suspect named Luis Jackson, as per a report from Crime Stoppers.
According to Officer Juan Rebolledo, law enforcement received a call about a shooting in the 4000 block of West Memory Lane in Wichita just after 2 a.m. Responding promptly, officers discovered 19-year-old Zyles James, a resident of Wichita, unconscious and without vital signs. James had sustained gunshot wounds to his upper and lower body.

Immediate life-saving measures were initiated by the officers until emergency medical services arrived. Subsequently, James was transported to a nearby hospital, where he was later pronounced dead.
During the initial response to the incident, authorities also came across another victim who had suffered a minor injury, a graze wound to the arm. The victim was taken to a local hospital for treatment and subsequently discharged.
The police have urged the public to come forward with any information on the whereabouts of the suspect, Luis Jackson. If anyone spots Jackson or has knowledge of his location, they are advised to contact the emergency helpline number 911 or reach out to Crime Stoppers at 316-267-2111.
Investigations into the fatal shooting are ongoing, and law enforcement officials are appealing to the community for assistance in solving the case. Anyone with relevant information is encouraged to provide it to the authorities, who are determined to bring justice to the victim and his family.
