A powerful explosion believed to have been caused by a bomb tore through a Catholic Mass in the southern Philippines, resulting in the death of at least four people and leaving dozens wounded, officials have confirmed.
The incident took place in an area known as Mindanao, which has been plagued by violence and conflicts between government forces and Islamist militants. Sunday’s attack occurred during a morning Mass at a church in the town of Jolo, located in Sulu province.
