Caleb Arnett, a 29-year-old man, has been arrested and jailed on first-degree murder charges following a multiple stabbing incident in Aurora. The brutal attack took place early Saturday morning, resulting in one person’s death and leaving two others injured.
The Aurora Police Department received a distressing report of a stabbing at a residence on Fairview Drive around 1:20 a.m. Upon reaching the scene, officers discovered an adult female with severe injuries in the driveway of a neighboring house. They also found a person holding a knife inside the mentioned residence.

The suspect, Caleb Arnett, complied with officers’ commands and was taken into custody. Further investigation led to the discovery of two more victims inside the house. All three injured parties were promptly transported to the hospital for treatment.
Tragically, one of the victims, identified as 48-year-old Ross Nickolaus, succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead at the hospital. The female victim was transferred to Bergan Mercy Hospital in Omaha due to the seriousness of her injuries. The third victim, a juvenile, received treatment for minor injuries and was subsequently released. All three victims had sustained stab wounds.
Caleb Arnett, who had sustained minor injuries prior to the arrival of law enforcement, was also taken to the hospital for treatment. He is now being held in the Hamilton County Jail, facing charges of first-degree murder and two counts of first-degree assault.
The Aurora Police Department has requested the assistance of the Nebraska State Patrol to lead the ongoing investigation into this tragic homicide. As authorities continue their efforts to gather evidence and ascertain the motive behind the attack, the community is left in shock and mourning.
