57-Year-Old Man Found Dead After Stabbing His Wife in Kurashiki

A man, aged 57, was discovered dead after allegedly stabbing his wife, aged 50, and then himself at their residence in Kurashiki, Okayama Prefecture, on Saturday evening, as per the authorities’ statement on Sunday.

Upon receiving a distress call around 7:25 p.m., reporting a stabbing incident, law enforcement officials promptly arrived at the scene. They discovered a woman with a knife wound to her abdomen, in a collapsed state within the kitchen, Kyodo News reported. Meanwhile, the lifeless body of her husband, identified as Tada Toita, was found in the bathroom. The police declared him dead on-site due to a knife wound, and a blood-soaked knife was discovered beside him.

The woman, identified as Toita’s wife, remains in a critical condition as of Sunday. The police have decided to postpone questioning her until she has sufficiently recovered.
